Buena Vista is an entirely Flash based website about the town that I grew up in. It's in the style of a sort of advertisement for the town, written by one of the townsfolk himself. I don't want to say that I'm making fun of the entire town and all the people in it, but I don't really know how else I can put it. It includes sections on famous residents, city statistics, things to do, and exactly (okay, not exactly) how to get there.
Bomb Sketch is a Flash game prototype that I completely designed and built based on Line Rider (a popular drawing recognition game) and Pop Cap games that I was addicted to in the past. This version only features one playable level but from it you can tell what the other levels would be like. The premise is that you have to draw different types of bombs in order to blow up brink in order to make your way to the center goal. But you can't just blow up any brick. There's a strategy that involves color coded bomb holders, inkwells, and a timer. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. With encouragement I'd like to expand it to a full sized game.
This Flash program is an ongoing project. It was part of my previous thesis but that has since changed. Now it is a side project that I work on when I have the time. It's meant to be a very fast and efficient floor plan program. Something that users can potentially go to a web site and begin developing a plan immediately without any software downloads. At the moment it's around 50% completed.
I will be exploring the web as a gaming environment. I am creating a Firefox extension that manipulates web page interactions in such a way that it lets users play games on or within them. This prototype will be accompanied by a thesis paper.
When viewed as a whole and complex system, the World Wide Web transcends its individual parts giving rise to emergent social interactions best exemplified as a virtual gaming environment.
